Young club member wins Federation Pool Competition

Club member Dylan Whitehead aged 11 won the GMFCYP Under 12 pool competition here last Week. This was an outstanding achievement by Dylan who held his nerve in the final to come out the winner in the best of 3 games. Dylan will now go on to represent the Federation in the North West Regional final at Preston early next year. Dylan is pictured with his trophy and the 2 tournament referees.

Fishing and Football

The club had a busy weekend with volunteers taking a group of lads to Thirsk in North Yorkshire on Saturday to take part in Angling Day provided by the National Federation of Anglers. The event involved young people from the North of England and was organised by Clubs for Young People. On Sunday volunteers took our under 14 five a side football team to take part a special “Centenary Legends Football Match” held at Sportcity in Manchester. Award for young volunteer

Club member Matthew Gilligan aged 15 has won the GMFCYP James G Buckley Trophy. This is awarded to a young person who has made the most outstanding contribution to club life across the whole of the Greater Manchester area. Matthew has been a key member of our young volunteers and he has shown outstanding maturity and leadership in helping at the club and in contributing to the clubs annual camp.
