Ryan Adams calls in at the club today

Ryan Adams took a break from his UK tour and stood on the famous spot, 25 years after Stephen Wrights Iconic photo of The Smiths. It turns out that Ryan, accompanied by Jesse Malin, is a fan, and both were in awe of the musical and sporting heritage of the area.

ebay auction of Smiths memorabilia for SLC

Stephen Wright, photographer of the iconic picture of the Smiths outside SLC (used on the inside sleeve of the Queen is Dead) has generoulsy donated one of the original proofs sent to him by Rough Trade Records. This is now being auctioned on ebay with the money raised going to the club. Viva Morrissey & fans raise over £550 for SLC

Moz tribute band Viva Morrissey held a benefit gig for the club last Saturday afternoon at Gulliver’s Bar in Manchester and raised over £550. Fans had travelled to Manchester from different parts of the UK for a smiths inspired weekend, attending the monthly Smiths Night at the Star and Garter.
