Christmas Treats at Salford Lads’ Club

Last Wednesday we had the annual Christmas party at the club. Special events included an assault course in the concert hall set up by volunteers Niall and Ryan, a quiz about the 100 SLC camps, pool competitions and lots of prizes. On Christmas day a group of local neighbours from the New Barracks Co-operative organised a Christmas party for people to be together. It was a great idea and resurrected the idea of traditional parties that were held on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day....

BBC Football Focus live from the gym

Today we had a fantastic event in the club, BBC Sport’s Football Focus programme was broadcast in front of a live audience from the gym. The programme was presented by Dan Walker, with the panel of Lee Dixon, Mark Lawrenson, Robbie Savage and special guest Michael Vaughan. The audience were football fans who had travelled from many parts of the country to be here. 3rd Pool competition win for SLC

Alex Scott won the under 16 Greater Manchester Pool competition last night to become our 3rd finalist this season. Alex beat Connor Scudder of Droylsden Youth Centre in the final. We now have the under 12, under 14, and under 16 winners at the club, and all of them will go forward to the northern finals in Preston in 2012.
