Launching our Legacy Fund… with an exclusive bucket hat competition!

We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our new Legacy Fund. This initiative, made possible through donations and grants, will ensure young people’s continued support and enrichment, and preserve our grade II listed building on Coronation Street as part of the city’s working-class cultural heritage.

To kick things off, all proceeds from the purchase of our special Salford Lads Club bucket hat will go directly to the fund throughout the remainder of the month of June – and for this weekend only, to coincide with the club hosting the ‘Together We’ll Fly’ Oasis exhibition, visitors can be in with the chance to win an exclusive piece of Oasis memorabilia!

How to take part in the competition:

A limited number of bucket hats will be available to purchase from our shop on Saturday June 15. Every purchase unlocks the chance to pick a raffle ticket, with one lucky winner able to take home hand-written lyrics from Oasis’s track ‘Turn Up the Sun’ written by former bassist Andy Bell. The prize was kindly donated by Kyle Dale, Director at Bittersweet Home, who organised the fantastic exhibition for Oasis fans.

“We’re excited to kick off the Legacy Fund and grateful to those who have already contributed,” said Leslie Holmes, our Project Manager, “we have more plans to share the Fund for our ongoing 120th year celebrations.”

Donations to the Legacy Fund will be a light that never goes out. The money raised will be invested in a permanent trust, generating a reliable income stream through annual interest disbursements. This sustainable financial model helps the club continue its vital work with youth for generations.

Salford Lads Club started in 1903 as a club for working lads aged 13 and became Salford Lads and Girls Club in 1996. We’re a charitable trust dedicated to developing and supporting young people in the local community.

As a site of cultural heritage, we rely largely on the generosity of visitors and supporters to maintain our historic facilities, remain open to welcome global music fans, and continue providing invaluable services to the youth of Salford.
