Top of the league in 2012

Our new open age football team which started in September 2011 are currently top of their League. The team are managed jointly by volunteer Mike Murray (L) and club leader Leon Warmington (C) Volunteer Ben Sellick (R) is the secretary. The team have also reached the quarter finals of the Sunday League Cup , so it’s a great start to 2012. The table below shows the top six places.

SLC Triumph at Snooker Competition

SLC members William Doyle, Casey James and Kyle Hili took  the top three places in the Greater Manchester Federation of  Clubs for Young People  under 14 snooker competition. The final was held at Stockport Lads’ Club last night. William Doyle (L) once again came out as winner adding a second trophy to his pool win in December.  Casey James (C) was runner up and Kyle Hili (R) won the 3rd place play off.  All three will go through to the Northern Finals at Preston.

Christmas Treats at Salford Lads’ Club

Last Wednesday we had the annual Christmas party at the club. Special events included an assault course in the concert hall set up by volunteers Niall and Ryan, a quiz about the 100 SLC camps, pool competitions and lots of prizes. On Christmas day a group of local neighbours from the New Barracks Co-operative organised a Christmas party for people to be together. It was a great idea and resurrected the idea of traditional parties that were held on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day....
