They’ve done it again

William Doyle and Dylan Kelly repeated last year’s performance by winning the GMFCYP pool competitions. Dylan won the under 12 section and William moved up the age group to win the under 14 competition. They will both go forward to the Northern Area finals in Preston.

Boxing film highlights aim to end racism in a generation

Riffat Ahmed’s film CLENCH premiered last week. The film is about a mixed race Asian teenage girl who takes part in a boxing course run by a black boxing coach. The film explores the girls own experience of racism and also her own preconceptions of other people and places. Adam Crosby one of the boxers at the club took part in the film which was shot on location here and Old Trafford. It was commissioned by the Runnymede Trust to highlight their project Generation3.

Social Media Surgeries at Salford Lads’ Club

We held our first Social Media Surgery at the club on the 28th September. We were joined by some: "patients" - people from community & voluntary organisations who needed some help in social media "surgeons" - experts who could help the patients! Social Media Surgeries work by putting these two people together, with a laptop and a cup or tea.
