Greater Manchester Snooker champs

Club members travelled to Stockport Lads’ Club this week to take part  in the Greater Manchester Federation under 14 Snooker Competition.  We came away with both winner and runner up prizes. Dylan Whitehead (left)  and Barry Britton (right) will now go through as regional winners to the Northern Final later in the season.

Drawing Inspiration Award

Our project Knockout Drawings from the Boxing Ring has been chosen as one of only 5 award winners from 1312 Big Draw events across the UK. Sue Grayson Ford, Campaign Director, comments “Salford Lads’ and Girls’ Club and Ordsall Community Arts fully demonstrated the Big Draw’s aims of bringing people together, engaging them creatively and supporting active learning – all through drawing. Salford Lads’ Club Nominated as one of England’s Favourite Icons

Salford Lads’ Club is currently in 2nd place in a poll of over 900 nominations to find the favourite icons of England. An online poll at www.icons.org.uk shows Salford Lads’ Club well ahead of 10 Downing Street, Buckingham Palace and even The Daleks!
