Chief Boxing coach at Salford Lads’ Club Dave Connell took to the ring last week to help raise money for a charity. Ex professional boxer Dave, aged 57 took part in a 3 round bout with ex Olympic Wrestler Paul O’Toole at the Willows in Salford last Friday and came out winning by a majority decision.

Coach Russ Arrowsmith who runs Arrow ABC from the club also took part in the event against Eccles boxer Brian O’Neil, but Russ lost.

The event raised over £30,000 for the “Destination Florida” charity which runs a trip each year to take terminally ill children to Disneyland Florida.
