SWEDISH DRILL in the Concert Hall

A 3 month performing Arts project  working with local young people and artists came to a fantastic conclusion last night with a live performance in the newly restored concert hall. The event involved a new gymnastic dance, projected film and live music from the Ordsall Samba Drummers.

Young people were from Kidzwidreamz- SAYO- Salford Lads & Girls Club and artists from Company Fierce and Ordsall Community Arts. The event was filmed by Heather James from Lets Go Global TV

The project was supported by  the Clore Duffield Foundation

Swedish Drill was the aerobics of the early 1900s and the foundation for modern gymnastics. Our event was inspired by archive photographs of Swedish Drill classes taken in Salford Lads’ Club in 1909
