Visit by Eccles Boxing Club

We had a visit by a group of junior boxers from Eccles Boxing Club tonight to do some sparring with our junior boxers. Its great to make a link with another Boxing Club and we’d like to build on this in the future.

Visitors from Ardoyne Youth Club, Belfast

Tonight we welcomed a group from Ardoyne Youth Club, Belfast. The group of 15 young people and youth leaders are visiting a number of youth projects in the North West. The group had a tour of the club and then joined our lads in boxing, pool and 5 a side football.

Cold Feet meets the ‘Street – An Evening with John Thomson & Chris Gascoyne

Oulton Park visit for Lads Club

A group from the Lads Club went on a trip to Oulton Park: The Trackday event included a hands-on experience of working on a team car and then being driven around the circuit. Thanks to the Mary Monson team for this amazing opportunity.

Screen printing, on our pool tables!

Salford Foundation are here for 2 days as part of their NCS programme, with 40 young people from schools and colleges in Salford and Trafford. The workshops have been very varied with boxing, drama, first aid, an inspirational speaker and screen printing which everyone enjoyed.

Adventurous trip to Trafford Park!

A group from the Lads Club visited Challenge 4 Change in Trafford Park this week. They had a great time, its quite a challenge to negociate the high level walkways suported on a slender harness, but we had plenty of dare devils willing to give it a go.

Lake district challenge for Sport Relief

We were thrilled to contribute to this year’s Sport Relief. We took part in a challenge with BBC North West tonight, where 3 charities funded by Comic Relief climbed Skafell Pike in The Lake district. Girls club drama for #westandtogether

Over the last 3 weeks the girls club having been working with Ordsall Community Arts and drama worker Steph Green to create a short piece to highlight Hate Crime. The first performance took place in the senior games room at the club with an audience of friends and families #westandtogether

Salford Reds go boxing

Jay and James (pictured Right and left middle row) are our new sports coaches, from the Salford Red Devils Foundation. Tonight they brought along their under 16 rugby league team to try a spot of boxing with lads club coaches Dave Connell and Kevin McCloskey.
