John Thomson, Pete from Cold Feet, and Chris Gascoyne, Pete from Coronation Street were on the concert hall stage last night telling some fascinating stories, with some of the audience taking photos on their phones. Looking back in our archives to 1904 the “interesting talk” was given by Baden Powell at the official opening of the club, and reported in drawings for “The Daily Dispatch” Here is our drawing of John and Chris, in the style of that original report.
We have another of our special fundraising evenings in the concert hall on Saturday February 23rd with actors John Thomson & Chris Gascoyne.
Tickets are £12 each online or £15 on the door.
Doors and bars will be open from 7pm. The event will start at 8pm.

Our new fundraising t shirt features an orignal photo of Morrissey by Mike Joyce. Mike offered to help our fundraising and between us we have come up with this great new T shirt to raise funds for a second USA trip for young people at the club, and future activities for young people. The T shirt is in a classic 80s yellow, is available on our shop page. People can also buy them at the club from Saturday 22nd October. Aflecks in Manchester are also supporting our fundraising and the shirt will be available from our popup shop at their famous indie store on Oldham Street all next week. Thanks to Manc icons Chris Eccelston, Maxine Peak, John Thomson, Mark Radcliffe and Mike Joyce for being our “models” joining in the fun and supporting the club.
