A team from SLC travelled to Ghyll Head Adventure Centre in the Lake District to compete in the Annual Frank Luke Challenge event set up by the Greater Manchester Federation of Clubs for Young People
The team of 3 boys aged 11-14, Ryan, Wesley and Deane became our first ever winners of this prestigious trophy . The weekend event is a series of challenging outdoor activities in the lake district terrain involving canoeing, rock climbing.
Last Saturday at the Kenward Sports Centre in Hyde our under 14 Five a side Football team won through to the final of The Greater Manchester Federation Cup. The final will be played at the Manchester Athletics Arena in March 2007 as part of the Centenary Celebrations of The Greater Manchester Federation of Clubs For Young People.

Young people from the club won three of the Greater Manchester Federation Pool Competitions this week. Our senior lads were successful in the under 19 final where we had the winner Adam Williams and runner up Tapiwanashe Jaricha.
Last night we added to this success with Montel Harper winning the Girls under 12 Pool Final. Ashley Carr then went on to win the under 16 trophy.
‘Beat Nation’ a 2 hour ‘Live Urban Beats’ event took place at the club this week. 3 experts worked with young club members to create a mass of sound. It even brought the kick boxers down from the boxing gym above! Thanks to the Greater Manchester Music Action Zone and to the Greater Manchester Federation of Clubs For Young People for organising the event.

Luke Williams won the under 19 pool competition held at Adephi Lads’ Club. Wesley Morris won the under 14 snooker competition at the club. Michael Murray was a semi finalist. Girls took part in the first ever Girls Pool Competition held at the club. Rochelle Davidson won the under 14 competition. Aimee Armsden won the under 12 competition her twin sister Katy Armsden was runner up. The Under 12 five a side football team reached the semi-final, held at Sale Sports Centre.
