We’ve had a couple of successful pool events recently
with 3 lads reaching the North West Finals.
William Doyle won the under 12 GMFCYP Pool competition
beating fellow club member Dylan Kelly in a closely fought
final. William is becoming quite a star as he also won the
GMFCYP snooker final. In the under 14 competition Connor
Wilson reached the final and he also qualifies for the
North West finals early next year.
We also held another of our popular lads and dads breakfast and pool competitions which again attracted a good Saturday morning audience. These events organised by volunteer Ben Selick bring the generations
together to share breakfast and a game of pool.
Niall Armsden won the Greater Manchester Federation under19 table tennis competition last week. Club member Robert Payne also reached the final of the under 14 competition. Both will go forward to the regional finals
later this year.
Salford Lads and Girls Dominate Snooker and Pool Competitions.
7 members off SLGC have won places to the regional snooker and pool finals in Preston later this year. Ryan Miller, Zac Murray, Niall Armsden, Alex Scott and Toni Stapleton join Barry Britain and Dylan Whitehead as Greater Manchester winners and runners up. This is a record number of SLGC members to win events in the same year, fantastic!
Club member Dylan Whitehead aged 11 won the GMFCYP Under 12 pool competition here last Week. This was an outstanding achievement by Dylan who held his nerve in the final to come out the winner in the best of 3 games.
Dylan will now go on to represent the Federation in the North West Regional final at Preston early next year. Dylan is pictured with his trophy and the 2 tournament referees.
Young people from the club won three of the Greater Manchester Federation Pool Competitions this week. Our senior lads were successful in the under 19 final where we had the winner Adam Williams and runner up Tapiwanashe Jaricha.
Last night we added to this success with Montel Harper winning the Girls under 12 Pool Final. Ashley Carr then went on to win the under 16 trophy.
