Visit by lads from East Kilbride

The club played host to group of lads from Duncanrig Secondary School from East Kilbride, Scotland. The club was packed and they joined our lads for games of five a side, boxing, table tennis, pool and a tour of the club. The evening was rounded off with hot dogs and chips.

Morrissey is opening a pop-up store – at Salford Lads Club!

Citizenship & self defence

Salford Foundation Trust have been in the club this week with their NCS programme. Over 200 young people from Salford and Trafford have spent their half term taking part in a whole series of activities including a residential in Wales, planning business and community projects and having a go at self-protection via boxing skills.

Theatre workshop brings history to life

Theatre came to the club today as part of the Ideas 4 Ordsall project. A drama workshop took place in the concert hall with students from Oasis Media Academy, followed by a promenade performance of the story of the Ordsall Barracks, devised by Rosemary Swift. Lads and Girls Club take to the water

A group of 8 young people from the club had a training session at the Salford Watersports Centre last night. It was great fun and a bit of serious training for their trip to the USA in the summer where one of the activities will be rafting in Colorado.

Music Students from Loreto Sixth form College in Manchester were given an indie music tour of the city today led by Inspiral Carpets drummer Craig Gill. Craig is a regular visitor, the Smiths Room being one of the highlights of his weekly Manchester Music Tours.
